An evening at the MCG with WorldStrides
What an inspiring night it was at the MCG on the 23 April, delving into the WorldStrides Soccer Programs and beyond! We extend our heartfelt thanks to our incredible guests, soccer educators, and coaches from across Melbourne for gracing us with their presence in the Committee Room by Guy Grossi. Special mentions to Joe Spiteri, Socceroo and Olympian, and Stuart Munro, four-time Scottish Premier League Champion with Rangers FC, for joining us.
The evening was filled with flowing drinks, lively conversations, and a mouthwatering three-course meal, set against the backdrop of the magnificent MCG. As we settled in, we were treated to insightful presentations that left a lasting impression.
Our guest speaker, Nikki Little, Head of Co-Curricular at Overnewton Anglican Community College, shared captivating stories of her students' transformative travel experiences and the opportunities they unlocked. She also reflected on how these travel programs have shaped her own career journey. Nikki's firsthand experience on our inaugural Soccer Teacher Training Trip to the United Kingdom offered a glimpse into the essence of a WorldStrides Soccer Program. You can dive into her 'day in the life' on tour here.
Following Nikki's powerful presentation, Gary Cole, former Socceroo, FCA President, and FA Hall of Famer, engaged in a casual yet enriching discussion with our Soccer Program Expert, George Cotsanis. Gary graciously shared invaluable insights from his professional playing days and offered a unique perspective as a parent to a professional athlete, before ending the discussion with an audience Q&A.
A heartfelt thank you to all who attended. We look forward to making this an annual tradition! Check out our photo gallery and a video snapshot of the night below.
