Performing arts in the UK

The United Kingdom is a hotspot for performing arts related events and learning activities that enable students to develop a deeper understanding of their craft.

Home to many of the world’s oldest and most prestigious performing arts institutions, students will work with world-renowned choreographers to enhance their skills, learn new techniques, and perform on storied stages across the globe.

Some of our most impactful performing arts experiences across the UK are:

Royal Opera House

Enjoy an exclusive backstage tour of the incredible Royal Opera House, in the heart of Covent Garden. You’ll discover the colourful history of the venue and the different aspects of its opera, classical music, theatre, ballet and dance productions.

Shakespeare Globe Theatre

A performing arts tour in the UK would be incomplete without an authentic Shakespearean experience at the Shakespeare Globe Theatre. The complex is a reconstruction of Shakespeare’s original open-air playhouse designed in 1599. Lit by candlelight, it has a distinct old-world feel, which encapsulates an authentic Shakespearean atmosphere.

Rose Theatre

After the Shakespeare Globe, a visit to the Rose Theatre naturally follows, being home to many of Shakespeare’s and Marlowe’s first productions. As the first Elizabethan theatre in Bankside, London, the theatre offers a rich insight into the way playhouses were run in the 16th century. See our Page, Stage and Screen itinerary here.

Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance

Challenge your technique and learn about the creative process behind choreography in a contemporary dance workshop at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, one of Europe’s leading dance institutions. See our Europe Drama and Arts itinerary here.

Edinburgh Fringe Festival

Every year, thousands of performers take to hundreds of stages across Edinburgh as part of the largest arts festival in the world, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Held over 3 weeks in August, the festival, which dates back to 1947, caters to all styles and genres including performers of music, dance, theatre, comedy and more. See our Edinburgh Fringe Festival itinerary here.

Whether you’re looking for an intensive workshop to fine-tune your performance abilities or a world-class production to be amazed and inspired by, the United Kingdom has plenty of options.

Take your students on an exciting performing arts learning adventure they will never forget.
