Day 1 Travel
  • Departure Meet at the airport for the international flight to Rome, Italy
Day 2 Rome
  • Buongiorno Italy On arrival in Rome, board your coach and check into your hotel
Day 3 Rome
  • Guided tour Start off the day with a half-day guided walking tour of the city’s ancient sites: the Colosseum, the Arch of Constantine and the Roman Forum
  • Explore The afternoon is free for sightseeing. If you dare, test your honesty in the presence of the Bocca della Verità (the Mouth of Truth), or explore some of the magnificent piazzas, ancient buildings, impressive fountains and incredible views that unveil the splendour of the ‘Eternal City’
Day 4 Rome
  • Vatican City Explore the Vatican City and its museums during a half-day guided tour where you will visit the Sistine Chapel and St Peter’s Basilica which contain many treasures and masterpieces, including the famous Pietà by Michelangelo
  • The afternoon is free for sightseeing and activities back in Rome. Perhaps visit the famous Spanish Steps or savour a gelato at the Trevi Fountain, before throwing in your coins and making a wish
Day 5 Rome - Naples - Sorrento
  • On the move Board your coach and to travel to Naples
  • Naples Naples' historic city centre is the largest in Europe, encloses 27 centuries of history, and is listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Today you will enjoy a half day guided tour of which includes the Naples Archaeological Museum
  • Amalfi Coast Afterwards, transfer to the Sorrento area. Situated on the Amalfi Coast and overlooking the picturesque Bay of Naples, Sorrento’s sea cliffs and luxury hotels have made it a popular spot for the rich and famous. Its location makes it the perfect base from which to visit Pompeii and the Isle of Capri
Day 6 Sorrento
  • Pompeii Transfer to Pompeii for a half-day guided tour of the excavation site. Pompeii was struck by a volcanic explosion in 79AD, buried under many feet of ash, it was lost for 1,600 years before its accidental rediscovery. Since then its excavation has provided an extraordinarily detailed insight into the life of a city at the height of the Roman Empire
  • Herculaneum Afterwards continue on to Herculaneum, a wealthier town than its neighbour Pompeii, with a greater density of stylish houses (and a lot more of them). Ultimately, however the two cities suffered the same fate when Mt Vesuvius erupted
Day 7 Sorrento - Paestum - Sorrento
  • Explore Explore the ruins of Paestum, during a half-day guided tour. Once a major ancient Greek city, Paestum contains some of the most well preserved ancient Greek temples in the world
Day 8 Sorrento - Rome
  • Roam in Rome Board your coach and return to Rome, where the afternoon is free for teacher supervised sightseeing and activities. You might like to visit Castel Sant' Angelo, reached by the beautiful bridge, Pont Sant’ Angelo, which is flanked by 10 angels each bearing an object associated with the crucifixion of Christ
Day 9 Rome - Athens
  • On the move It’s time to say “arrivederci” as you transfer to the airport for the flight to Athens. Athens is a modern and bustling capital city, with a pervading sense of its classical past, as it lives in the shadow of the Acropolis and the mighty Parthenon
Day 10 Athens
  • A monumental day Enjoy a half-day guided sightseeing tour of Athens, featuring the highlights of the capital, including a visit to the Acropolis and the Acropolis Museum. The Acropolis of Athens and its monuments are universal symbols of the classical spirit and civilization, and comprise the greatest architectural and artistic complex bequeathed by Greek Antiquity to the world. Also included are the Parthenon, and Syntagma Square (Constitution Square)
Day 11 Athens - Olympia
  • Explore Board your coach for a 3-day coach tour of the Greek mainland. Your first stop is at the Corinth Canal, which cuts through rock and forms almost vertical walls towering high above the sea below. Afterwards, travel to Epidaurus, visiting the ancient theatre which is famous for its acoustics and later visit the ancient ruins of Mycenae, before the day’s final journey to Olympia, birthplace of the Olympic Games
Day 12 Olympia - Delphi
  • Enjoy touring the ancient city of Olympia. The original home of the Olympic Games first held in 776 BC, Olympia was a sacred precinct to the god Zeus, whose temple here once housed his statue that comprised one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
  • Afterwards, board your coach to travel to Delphi. Both an archaeological site and a modern town in Greece, in ancient times Delphi was considered to be the centre of the known world, and the place where heaven and earth met
Day 13 Delphi - Athens
  • Sightsee Enjoy a city sightseeing tour of the ancient ruins of Delphi and its excellent museum. The ancient site backed by imposing Mount Parnassus, is in one of the most beautiful natural settings in the country. Your sightseeing includes the Sacred Way to see the Temple of Apollo, along with some of the treasures, and the theatre
  • On the move Return to Athens in the afternoon
Day 14 Athens
  • Farewell It’s time to say “yasoo” as you transfer to Athens International Airport for the flight home to Australia
Day 15 Australia
  • Welcome home
