Along the east coast of Australia are opportunities for students to dive deep into our history, uncover our indigenous culture and heritage, and of course – have fun on a few adventures! This month we’re highlighting our favourite east coast tours that explore civics & citizenship, history and culture.
East Coast Civics and Citizenship Tour
From the halls of Parliament to the lights of the Sydney Opera House and everything in between. The East Coast of Australia is rich in education-focused opportunities for students. On tour of Canberra and Sydney students will explore Australia’s national and cultural identity as they learn about our democracy, history and culture. Students experience the best of two cities enjoying educational programs and visits to attractions linked to civics and citizenship, history, science, indigenous studies and the arts.
Sydney Discovery Tour
History, culture and adventure – this 5-day program of Sydney has it all. Not only will students learn about Australia’s early settler history and participate in indigenous cultural experiences – they’ll also get to scale bridges, explore rainforests, embark on a guided ghost tour and make a couple of furry new friends!
Sydney Heritage Tour
Over centuries Sydney has transformed itself from the site of Australia’s first colony to a thriving global city. Here students will travel back in time to the 17th & 18th centuries and discover how Australia came to be as they explore Cockatoo Island, The Rocks and Old Government House. Students will also learn in greater depth the indigenous heritage interwoven with ours during educational programs and experiences led by Aboriginal elders and custodians.
Our primary and secondary tours around Australia can be tailored to any area of the Australian Curriculum.
