The 2024 winter season was truly exceptional! From Hotham to Buller and across New Zealand, 60 school groups and 2,100 students (a total of 2,441 travellers!) made memories that will last a lifetime.
The snow arrived just in time for our first departures this season, and the excitement was palpable! July was our busiest month, with some lucky groups experiencing perfect weather and ideal conditions during the latter half of the month.
As August drew to a close, warmer temperatures brought the season to a gradual end, and it was bittersweet when the mountains announced their closures for the first week of September.
This year was the first time some of our groups joined the Silent Disco at Hotham, which was a huge hit among students! It’s a fantastic addition to your 2025 itinerary (let us know if you’d like to add this in!). Other highlights included exhilarating night skiing, movie nights, festive Christmas in July parties, birthday celebrations with cake decorating, and awards nights recognising achievements like ‘best stack’ and ‘fastest learner.’ There was also plenty of communal fun, with groups sharing stories and moments, like the Mercedes College girls asking each other, ‘Who’s your hero from the week?’.
A huge shout out to our staff on mountain who provided 24/7 support to our travelling groups. They greeted groups on arrival, helped them check in, chaperoned them to collect their gear and were available to help teachers if any issues arose.
