2022 WorldStrides Photo & Video Competition

Calling all budding photographers and TikTok enthusiasts! We’re giving you the chance to show off your skills and win some awesome prizes just by sharing all the fun you’re having on your WorldStrides trip.

This competition is open to all WorldStrides student travellers who had or have trips from 1 March – 31 October 2022.

World's Best Teacher

In honour of Teachers Day on the 5th October, strike your best pose with the teacher(s) who took you on the trip of a lifetime and tell us a bit about what makes them the best.

Send us that breathtaking photo of an activity you and your group did that made you say ‘wow’. You know…the one you sent to your friends and family to show off how much fun you’re having? Selfies in front of iconic attractions are also accepted!

Brain Boost

Share something interesting you discovered or learned on your trip in a 30 second reel or TikTok style video. This could be something educational you did or something you saw worth sharing about. We’d love to see your face, but if you’re camera shy, this can be done by using a voice-over accompanied by footage of the moment.

My WorldStrides Moment: Grand Finale

Send us a 30-60 second compilation reel or TikTok-style video highlighting the best moments of your trip or candid moments showing us what a great time you’re having with your friends and teachers. We want to see it all!

Rules for submission

  • Submissions are open from 1 August 2022 – 31 October 2022.
  • There are no limits on how many photos, videos or categories you can submit to.
  • You must be the original artist – the one who took the photo or video, and the editor, if applicable.
  • You must be a student participant of a WorldStrides program between 1 March 2022 – 31 October 2022.
  • Aspect ratio for videos = Portrait: 9:16, Landscape: 16:9 or 3:2
  • No copyrighted music in videos.

Voting and winner selection

  • Prize winners will be chosen by WorldStrides’ team of creatives, based on image composition, image resolution and overall quality, candidness, the significance of content, originality, creativity, and overall presentation
  • Three winners will be chosen for the non-grand prizes and one winner will be chosen as the grand prize winner.
  • Winners will be notified by email by 7 November 2022.
  • Winners of non-grand prize categories will have two prize options to choose from. Prize option #1 includes: a $50 Amazon gift card, a Xenvo Pro Lens Kit for iPhone and Android and a WorldStrides goodie bag. Prize option #2 includes: a $50 Amazon gift card, a Fujifilm Instax Mini 9 + Film and a WorldStrides goodie bag.
  • The grand prize winner will receive a Canon EOS M50 mk II Mirrorless Digital Camera Kit and a WorldStrides goodie bag.
