Student Reflection During Educational Travel

WorldStrides Professional Development

Education is at the heart of what we do at WorldStrides. Not only do we weave experiential learning into our tours, we also provide tools and resources for educators to use in the classroom.
Student Reflection During Educational Travel

Throughout the year, members of the WorldStrides Curriculum and Academics team run fun, interactive and informative Professional Development webinars for teachers all over the country, covering an array of subject areas. We’re delighted to be able to offer this program at no cost to teachers across Australia and New Zealand. Plus, we’ll send you a certificate at the completion of the workshop so you can log the hour of professional learning towards your annual registration.

Hear what teachers have to say about our PD workshops…

The session was informative, helpful, and interesting. The chat allowed for the sharing of ideas around the nation, and the zoom was conducted brilliantly.

The annotated photo journal

In this webinar, you’ll analyse how using photographs can create a more engaging classroom experience for students, plan ways to incorporate photographs into your curriculum (no matter your content area), and learn and gather best practices from your peers.

Intercultural thinking

Tools to help our students survive and thrive beyond their comfort zones.

Incorporating pop culture in the classroom

Learn ways to bring traditional concepts to life with references your students will be excited about. With the resources and ideas covered in this session, you will be able to incorporate popular culture across your curriculum.

Seeing the world in new ways (by using maps in new ways)

While maps often can be found in the geography classroom, we will share ways to embed maps across the curriculum, including in your math, science, language, and performing and visual arts classes.

Power of reflection: Using journalling to understand ourselves and the world

In this session, the power of reflection will be demonstrated through the application of journalling techniques and reflective questioning strategies in order to make meaningful connections from experiences at our travel destinations.
